Serpro celebrates strong results among international market clients

Serpro, Brazil’s state-owned company, has plenty of reasons to celebrate when it comes to expanding its global client portfolio. “Our goal was to reach USD 3.4 million in revenue in 2025, but by the end of October we had already reached USD 4.8 million,” says Juliana Braz, Serpro’s Business Manager. The company is also nearing the milestone of 400 contracts outside Brazil. “Today, Serpro operates in 48 countries across five continents, and the potential for growth keeps increasing,” Juliana predicts.
She attributes this strong performance to the company’s strategy of actively prospecting opportunities in the private sector and among foreign governments—particularly those in Africa and Latin America—seeking to deliver better services to their populations. In February of this year, for example, the Brazilian state-owned company signed a contract with the government of Angola for on-demand consultancy services, an agreement with a total value of up to USD 1 million.
Juliana also notes that Serpro is steadily consolidating its presence in the international private market that serves Brazilian users, especially in areas where the company can provide direct support. Today, its international portfolio includes approximately six APIs: Consulta CPF, Consulta CNPJ, Consulta Débito Ativo, Consulta de Certidão Negativa de Débito, Consulta DUE, and Consulta de Propriedades Rurais, in addition to DataValid, the company’s biometric validation system.
“The products Serpro offers to both national and international markets add an extra layer of security to companies’ operations. Any company interested in entering the Brazilian market seeks this type of solution to streamline onboarding, improve efficiency, and enhance security for their users,” Juliana explains. “Fintechs, banks, digital banks, and the online gaming sector all use our APIs,” she adds.
A sustainable business model
The manager also explains how Serpro’s sustainable business model works. It establishes that part of the revenue generated from services offered to Brazil’s productive ecosystem—and now internationally—returns to the government in the form of cost reduction.
Part of the income generated through API consultations provides financial relief for the public agencies involved in that same productive chain through their contracts with Serpro. This means the agency spends far less public money and gains the opportunity to develop new products and services. These, in turn, strengthen the productive ecosystem, generating new revenue that once again translates into reduced costs for the public agencies that rely on these services.
Presence at Major Global Events
Maintaining a presence at international events is also a key part of Serpro’s strategy to globalize its products and services. This year, the company highlighted this focus at three major events in the second half of 2025:
- ICAO Innovation Fair 2025, held in September in Montreal, Canada
- Africa Tech Festival, in November in Cape Town, South Africa
- Web Summit 2025, also in November in Lisbon, Portugal
“These moments allow us to connect with potential clients and create opportunities to bring Serpro’s work to the world,” Juliana says.
