Serpro's digital identity validation services are expanding their global footprint and are now used by clients in dozens of countries. The services are integrated into digital platforms that operate under stringent regulatory requirements. In the international market, the CPF Inquiry solution has over 140 active contracts across 45 countries, while Datavalid, which focuses on a biometric verification tool, is adopted by 55 clients in 25 countries.

These solutions are deployed in identity verification, user authentication processes, digital onboarding, risk analysis, fraud mitigation, and age verification a requirement that has gained significant traction in regulated digital markets such as iGaming.

"In these environments, platforms must verify user identities, restrict access to minors, and comply with regulations such as KYC (Know Your Customer), which involves customer identification and validation, and AML (Anti-Money Laundering), aimed at preventing money laundering," explains Rafael Ferreira, Head of International Business Development at Serpro.

According to Ferreira, the scale and complexity of digital operations increase the need for reliable control mechanisms. "Estimates indicate that the online betting market generates more than USD 100 billion annually, with continued growth expected in the coming years, which reinforces the demand for identity validation and user monitoring," he says.

In this context, solutions based on official government data gain relevance. Unlike offerings that rely solely on private data, Serpro's services operate with information from the Brazilian State, enhancing the reliability of identification processes. These solutions validate data directly against government databases, such as those from the Federal Revenue Service, combining registry verification with biometric confirmation. This approach reduces reliance on self-declared information, strengthens digital process security, helps mitigate fraud, and accelerates user onboarding.

"Identity validation based on official data and biometrics addresses concrete needs of digital platforms, particularly in age verification and risk reduction. At the same time, it expands the adoption potential of these solutions in international markets that demand robust user identification mechanisms," highlights Juliana Braz, International Business Development Lead at Serpro.

The CPF inquiry API enables automated access to updated registry data, while Datavalid performs biometric verification by comparing information against official databases and using liveness detection mechanisms. Integrated, these solutions make it harder to use fake or third-party identities and reinforce security during user onboarding.

In Brazil, this logic is already applied at scale in solutions developed by Serpro to regulate the betting sector, such as the management platform used by the federal government, which enables continuous operational monitoring and compliance with responsible gaming requirements: the Responsible Gaming Platform SIGAP.

The presence in dozens of countries demonstrates Serpro's consolidation as a provider of digital identity solutions for international markets, particularly in environments that demand high levels of control and reliability. "This movement is also tied to the scale of the Brazilian market, which ranks among the top five iGaming markets worldwide. In this scenario, identity validation based on official data is poised to become a central element for the secure operation of digital platforms on a global scale," concludes Juliana.

SBC Summit Malta and the Regulated European Market

Last week, Serpro's international team participated in SBC Summit Malta, one of the leading global conferences for the iGaming and regulated digital platform sector, bringing together companies, experts, and technology providers to discuss security, compliance, and innovation.

In Europe, Serpro's services are already present in several countries. The CPF inquiry API is available in 15 European nations, while Datavalid is adopted in 11 countries across the continent.

"Participation in SBC Summit Malta highlighted the relevance of the European market, which has some of the world's most demanding regulatory frameworks for digital operations. The event served as a hub for companies needing to meet stringent identity validation requirements and allowed us to track trends shaping global digital compliance standards," observes Daniel Patriota, International Business Analyst at Serpro, who attended the event.

Throughout the conference, the Serpro team held meetings with industry players, presented its services, and assessed key demands from digital platforms. This direct market engagement also guides Serpro's international efforts with governments, particularly in building solutions compatible with regulated environments.

In this context, Serpro's international portfolio includes offerings for the public sector, such as Datavalid Global. The solution provides its biometric verification engine for deployment in other countries, enabling governments to implement identity validation mechanisms aligned with private-sector demands and adapted to different regulatory contexts.

"Beyond offering services, our presence at the event reinforced our potential to export technology developed from the Brazilian experience, particularly in solutions that demand high reliability and adherence to regulated environments," states Thiago Amorim, International Business Analyst at Serpro.
